The Yoga Mandala Project is a grassroots initiative supporting the wellbeing of globally marginalized communities and those who serve them by fostering community and sharing practices such as yoga, creative expression, and mindfulness.
Who we are
We are a community of trauma-informed yoga teachers, aid workers and embodiment facilitators around the globe supporting communities impacted by war, violence or displacement as well as those serving them through self-regulation and other stress-relieving embodiment practices. We come together with the intention to foster inclusivity by providing accessible tools and spaces for holistic wellness.
We believe that Yoga is an effective way to support the well-being of refugee communities, and can help to foster dignity, compassion and a sense of a shared humanity.
Our training and professional development opportunities empower international service providers and refugee facilitators with tools to share within their communities as well as to support their own self-care to minimize the impacts of vicarious trauma and the high turnover rate among aid workers.
Vision
We envision a world where everyone has access to the resources and healing tools they need to be well.
